Mark and I have been in training mode for about 12 weeks. We did a 13 week training program designed to prepare us for a 10K. On Sunday, we ran 5 miles, Run the Vineyards. It was a great race and we had an awesome time. A 10k is 1.2 miles farther than what we had run on Sunday, and I am not sure if we really would have been able to accomplish that.
Moving forward, where do we go from here. We will probably continue running at least three days a week. No thoughts or concerns about time spent or distance traveled. Our next race is The Color Run on July 8th in Philly, and that is only a 5K.
I need to seriously start thinking about preparing myself for the triathlon in September. I am thinking a combination of strength training, swimming and running. Not sure what the schedule will look like, but I am really looking forward to the challenge and feeling good about my ability to compete.
