Thursday, what a busy day! I woke up late and ran around the house like a chicken with my head cut off just trying to make it to school on time. I really don’t like when my days start that way. Unfortunately it is becoming a trend! School was relatively uneventful. I really enjoy my class but I believe that they are ready for the year to be over. They are just a bit whiney and they are needling each other for no reason. Today I tried playing a few educational games just to lighten the mood and increase their engagement. We still have a few weeks left, I cannot let them be finished so soon!
Immediately after work I drove over to the shop. It is something I do at least three days a week. I am required by the guidelines of the association to keep the shop open until 6pm Wednesday through Friday. Those are the days that I head over directly after work. Sometimes I work on store stuff, sometimes I just clean, sometimes, like this Thursday, I do a bit of school work. I closed the shop and was on the road really quickly because you see, I am not satisfied to teach full time and to run my own quilt store. No, this particular Thursday, Mark and I made plans to head into philly for an 8pm recital at the Curtis. We love attending the recitals and have not made the time to do that this spring.
Fortunately the recital did not start until 8 so we were able to take the high speed line over to the city and we still had a few moments to walk around before we were allowed in the recital hall. It was such a great recital, a preview of what the Curtis would be performing on their European Tour this coming summer.Performance wise, we could not have asked for a better recital. The program was shorter than we expected so we took a walk over to Jet to visit Jessica. She was happy to see us and we were happy to relax with a glass of wine and some good conversation!
My week in the life is just about over by the time Thursday arrives. I always start on Sunday because that is the day I regard as the first day of the week. Just two more days and then I will start my process of pulling it altogether!
