No Turning Back

Tonight, some time after 9pm, I headed off to the gym. I was scared into it!

You see, on March 17th, I will be running in my first 5k in over 20 years. I am not ready. I am afraid I won't be ready. So I run. 

I was going to run last night, but I fell asleep right after dinner. I needed to run this evening.

Tonight was day one of week 5, the Couch to 5k Program. Walk 5 minutes, run 5 minutes, walk 3 minutes...well, you get the drift. 

My goal is to participate in a triathalon in August. This is the first step.

At this rate, I will make it to week 9, the last week of the training program, the Monday before the race. Wish me luck, I'm going to need all the help I can get!

Not Quite Ready to Run

Today we completed day 2, of week three, of the Couch 2 5K program. This is harder than I thought it would be. I am hoping to build some stamina over the next couple of weeks because today was just a bit too hard. Really, it would be so easy to quit at this point but I am committed to completing the program. Anyway, we have a race to run and it's coming up! Wish me luck.

3 + 1 = New Family Dynamics

Wow, just look at us. For so many years it has been just the kids, Jason and Jessica, and myself. Now, with Mark a part of the family, I am sure the dynamics will change. One thing that will never change is the love I feel for each one of them. They are all very special people. With the three of them by my side, anything is possible!
