Finally, the last day of teacher conferences. The week of conferences tends to drag out and drain a body. Having 26 students in a class means more conferences as well as longer days and nights. Now I can get onto the business of Christmas.
One of the things I love most about the holidays is the opportunity to come home to a house lit with beautiful white lights. The glow has a soothing affect and the memories associated with the decorations just makes me happy. I love my house. I love coming home.
Something new for me this holiday season is coming home to a warm house. Mark works from home so he turns on all the trees with their lights before I arrive home. I am greeted by lights and a hug - sweet.
Thursday I spent a little bit of time making a mental list of what still needs to be done in the house. There are still ornaments that need a home on one of the trees. The star needs to be placed on the top of the big tree, but that won't happen until all the ornaments are hung. Perhaps tomorrow!
These ornaments were unwrapped before the party. There are still some ornaments hiding in this box at the top of my stairs.
The little bear that sits on top of the box was a give-away at JC Penneys one year when I worked their part time. I can recall almost all the origins of the ornaments and decorations I currently use to decorate my home and I just love that!
