Snow! That is the big news for today. The first "real" snow of the season. Although it did flurry on Thanksgiving, today we had a little accumulation and enough of the white stuff to create havoc on the highways.
I drove out to my mom's this evening and it took us nearly 2.5 hours for what is usually a 40 minute drive. Craziness. My poor sister was waiting patiently for me to arrive so that she could visit with her family before bedtime and it took us forever to get there - so sorry. Jen has been staying with my mom since she was released from the hospital, she desperately needed an opportunity to spend time with her own family. If the weather cooperates my sister Suz will drive up from North Carolina on Friday. Everyone trying to do what they can to help out. At this point Jen is carrying most of the burden, a special thank you to her!
Perhaps I will be able to capture some photos of the snow tomorrow morning before work. Warmer temperatures are due to arrive so the white stuff, what little there is of it, is sure to disappear quickly.
So glad tomorrow is Friday. So glad Saturday will offer the opportunity to sleep late. So glad I will have time to focus on the Christmas list and get my act together. Is that asking for too much?
So grateful for the snow, the opportunity to visit with my mom and the weekend right around the corner. Perhaps the snow scheduled for Sunday will be more of an event. This is the perfect song for this evening!
