Last week, seventeen, was also Week in the Life. I love the process of documenting life as it is happening. It works for me, primarily because if I wait too long, I forget. Last week Mark kept track of his daily activities and perspectives along with me. I have not yet seen Mark's notes, but I have seen some of the photos and the different perspective is enlightening.
Sunday was our first wedding anniversary and one of those perfect days where we just did whatever we wanted. What a treat! We finished the day with movie popcorn for dinner, along with a movie, and wedding cake for dessert, thanks to my sister Suzy.
Monday, a no training day for me. Primarily a run of the mill Monday. There was work, home, dinner, and wedding cake, again, for dessert. This time I added ice cream! I included a picture of my desk at work in this week's layout, I need to start including those little tidbits of life that I generally overlook as commonplace. Those are just some of the details that I think I may want to see when I look back at this year.
Tuesday Mark decided to run 5 miles. Not to be outdone, I decided that I needed to complete 5 miles also. Just to prove that I can. Mark made tacos for dinner, my favorite. We also watched The Secret Life of Bees. What a great movie. We both loved the book, Mark just finished it, so it was time to see the movie!Wednesday, we had a simple dinner at home followed by a trip on the High Speed Line into Philly for a recital at the Curtis. What a wonderful evening. The show featured portions of a Curtis show that will be featured on a European tour. Really enjoyable.
Thursday and Friday, pretty much normal days. I needed to run both days to complete my training for the 5 mile race that we were running on Sunday. We took photos of the yard where so much is happening. The roses are all in bloom. The hostas are really filling in and the lilys of the valley are precious. There were errands to run on Friday evening followed by another movie, Bottleshock. A great movie.
Saturday, we stayed home and really nested a bit. We cleared weeds out of the yard, trimmed some of the bushes and caught up with laundry. Running increases the amount of laundry I need to do. Postal love arrived on Saturday from my dear friend Faye. She made an enormous amount of biscotti which we started eating immediately. I finished a book in the afternoon and decided that I wanted biscotti for dinner. Mark ate a real dinner and then we watched Sideways. We tried to get to bed early because of the race on Sunday. Not sure how well we did with that.
This week I included an insert in a 6 x 12 page protector that I trimmmed a bit shorter. Inside I placed the program for Wednesday's recital. I like that Project Life gives me a place to store all of that kind of stuff. I also love that I will always know where to put my hands on something. This is really working for me!
