Week 15 started off slow and then picked up right around Thursday, Jason's birthday. The beginning of the week, Sunday, we did a bit of yard work and took care of a couple of things around the house. Then it was back to work on Monday. I worked feverishly on Brittany's qiult so that I could give it to she and Ako at Jason's birthday party. I really love it and it was very easy to sew the binding on. Tuesday I gave myself the illusion of a clean reading table at work! I think it looks great!
This week I included several inserts. The first includes a few pictures from Thursday, the 11th, Jason's 28th birthday. Can you believe I have a son that is 28? I sure can't! I did spend a bit of time embellishing this week. I thought I had some time and it really worked out well! It seems I have a ton of 7 Gypsies sickers and tags so it is about time that I started to include them in my layouts!
Being Jason's mom has been a true blessing. Such fun we had on Thursday - just loved having the opportunity to celebrate him! The second insert is of the photos we took on our Saturday adventure to Washington DC. We hopped on the bus sponsored by Represent.Us and traveled with other like-minded individuals to run a 5K on K Street. We dressed like $100 bills and had a police escort. Such fun! The day was beautiful and the cherry blossoms were at their peak.
The back side of the insert has three photos from the thick of the march. It really was a fun time! The rest of Week 15 included the gift of flowers from one of my students, wrapped in damp paper towel and aluminum foil. I remember doing that myself for my teachers! Then I took a photo of the cherry tree blossoming right outside of school. Thirteen years I have seen that tree bloom and I finally paused to snap a couple of photos! Thursday we hopped the train into Philly to see Jason and Friday I was recuperating and did not take one photo!
This is the spread as it is currently. As usual, I reserve the right to make any changes I see fit! As usual, I will be linking up over at The Mom Creative. Even though my post was published on Tuesday, it was not finished. I am not sure what happened. But, fortunately I caught the error and was able to make the corrections.
Ali Edwards has posted her Week 13 and you can catch a glimpse of that here. It is not secret that I have long been a fan of Ali Edwards and her unique style. Sometimes I wish my pages looked like hers. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen. I am feeling pretty good about this week's spread. Thanks for stopping by and giving it a look-see! Have a magical weekend!
