Today was a lay low kind of day, all because of a cold I caught from my hubby. He is still hacking, feeling it mostly in his chest at this time. Me, well thankfully I seemed to have kicked it pretty quickly with soup, Fruit Breezers and decongestants. So, after taking a 2nd nap, I decided to re-visit my scrapbook table. So happy I did!
I finished my layout which features an 8.5x11 photo of the porch at the El Tovar Lodge in the Grand Canyon. As of this evening the layout looks like this:Sometimes I feel compelled to go back and add something to my layouts. For now, this layout is already in an album and I am ready to move onto the next project.
I was looking at my layout board on Pinterest and found this layout, which I love:You can see the blog post featuring this layout here. I was inspired to try something like this with a couple of my photos from our road trip this summer. This is my take, featuring a 12x12 photo of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Inspiration paid off, I love my layout. I didn't feel that there was any need for journaling, the photo captures the feeling I wanted of a "typical" San Francisco day.
I also didn't want to make my layout too busy. The photo seems to have enough going on. I made a small cluster of patterned paper in two places and added the date. My favorite has to be the name of the city in those great cork letters from Close to My Heart. So happy I finally had a chance to use them! The little tag is from BananaFish Studios, I just love the size and the way it fills that little nitch! Well, I guess that's enough for one day. Off to bed to keep this cold at bay.
