I just got off the phone with my dear friend Bunkey. In 2011, Bunkey was diagnosed with the same cancer, pancreatic neuro-endocrine, that Steve Jobs had. Last year her doctor placed her on permanent disability and made her retire. Her chemo treatment has increased to two weeks on and two weeks off, with no break at all in the regimen.
Each day Bunkey lives life to the fullest, doing so much more than me and so many of us. But today, Bunkey went up to Columbia where they manage her trial and received only good news. The majority of the tumors in her liver are non-detectable on her scans and the tumors near her heart have shrunk (not sure if that's correct English). They are now away from her aorta which is a real blessing!
Today I am grateful for Bunkey's good news not only related to her cancer but also to her husband's cancer and upcoming treatment. What a blessing!
