I ran a 10K on November 2nd and haven't run since. Damage to my knees and hips had made running very painful.
Since that time I have been to my butt doctor for needle therapy to help with the piriformis syndrome. I have had my knees x-rayed and mri'd. I have had my hips x-rayed and mri'd. I have had my back mri'd. I have been going to physical therapy, on and off, since November.
I'm tired. I'm tired of the pain and I am tired of not running. So today I decided, if I am in pain whether I run or not, I will continue to run. Oh, I will still continue to do everything the doctors tell me. I will still continue to exercise and stretch. I will continue to listen to my body. But, I will also, run.
Tonight was my first time running since November. I was on a treadmill and only pushing myself to do between a ten and twelve minute mile in intervals, only running for 2.25 miles. It felt great. Twenty-three minutes, start to finish.
Yup, I've got the shoes and I'm going to run.
