Especially when it is not because I ordered something. Today I received the best kind a snail mail, an unexpected gift!
Ta-da! I present the newest addition to my collection of Starbucks mugs! Yippee! We never made it to Seattle on our vacation last year so this is a real treat.
It is part of the You Are Here collection of which I had nine mugs already! Our friend Robin found this in Tacoma last weekend. In his note he wrote that he hopes this doesn't create a need for a new collection, little does he realize. This is the 10th in my collection of You Are Here mugs!
Albuquerque, New York and Indianapolis were all picked up over the summer. New York in June when we were there for Solstice in TImes Square and the other two were picked up on our cross country adventure this past summer.
Chicago, Pittsburgh and California were also picked up during our trip this summer as were San Francisco and Ohio which I did not take pictures of for this post.
This whole collection started with Washington DC back in April of last year. I picked up the mug after our 5K down K Street to protest against money in politics.
I do love the styling of the You Are Here Collection, but my love of Starbucks mugs all began with the 2008 architecture series, pretty blue and white with a touch of violet. I have that style in Seattle, Los Angeles and New York. Then Starbucks introduced the city collection, I have many of those. Then, this year, they switched their styling again. I can't keep up.
Unfortunately, I am a huge Starbucks fan, even though I do not drink coffee. And, I do not drink my beverages from glasses, I prefer mugs. Starbucks mugs are either 16 or 18 ounces and they are a solid mug with a big handle. I just love them!
What a special treat it was to receive this mug from our friend Robin who traveled from Seattle only to find it in Tacoma!
