Today we traveled with our students to Bartram's Garden in SouthWest Philadelphia. I absolutely love this class trip. We have such a great time! The class trip includes a tour of the gardens, a tour of the Bartram residence and a short workshop entitled "Grow It."
Each time we attend the gardens for a class trip, the students are engaged, interested and always learn a great deal. Just the experience of being outside in nature is eye opening for many of them. They are coached to listen, observe and respect. They sample mint, clover and discover wildlife just under their noses.
Time spent in nature is never wasted. If you have the opportunity to spend time in Philly, I encourage you to stop for a respite away from the noise of the city. You will not be disappointed!
