As the seasons change, I find it much easier to transition if I prepare a set of guidelines for myself. These "guidelines" are really my goals for how I wish to pursue my life for a specific period of time. This summer, without a regular job, I find I need to be very conscious of decisions I make regarding my time and my commitments. I also need to be mindful because I am still recovering from surgery on my hip a little over a week ago. This summer, with tri season fully under way, I have had to excercise patience and understanding when faced with a body that, at least for the time being, no longer performs the way I am used to. It has been an adjustment and an opportunity. So heres to Summer 2014, the opportunities and the blessings!
Summer Manifesto - 2014
This summer I plan to pursue my creative passions in an attempt to creative a living from what I love.
I will gladly embrace the opportunities afforded me this summer.
I will be flexible to a change in routine.
I will follow doctors’ orders so that I will be able to return to my passions, running and triathlons.
I will be patient when things take time.
I will WRITE, something, everyday.
I will spend time outside, each day.
I will make time to discover local destinations that I have not yet fully explored.
I will enjoy happy hour, wherever I am.
I will delight in the little pleasures of the everyday.
I will express gratitude.
I will remember to breathe, deeply.
I will nurture my creativity by playing, with fabric, paint and paper.
I will continue to embrace the shade and drink more water.
I will live each day to the fullest.
