Nine years ago, the Saturday before Mother's Day 2005, I attended a worshop at QVC with Lisa Bearnson. It had been a crazy week filled with a bit of travel, a trip to Connecticut for school, and a bit of stress. That Friday evening, after I got home from Connecticut, that I learned that my father had been put on hospice. By the time Sunday arrived, I was ready for the week to be over.
I remember how much I enjoyed creating this layout, marveling over the highs and the lows of the week. I took a look at the receipts in the pockets, remembering shopping at my neighborhood Genuardi's, going to the florist and taking a workshop at the Scrapbook Station. Among the receipts were so many memories from the types of foods we were eating to the activities we were involved in. Jess was in New York City on that Saturday evening, at Radio City with Commerce Bank.
There is so much that I do these days to be conscious of the everyday moments. Be Present. Live in the Moment. I am grateful for the memories I was able to relive because of this layout, and I am grateful for this wonderful hobby!
