The crafting started earlier today with Miss Jackie learning to use her new sewing machine and making her first maxi! She did an awesome job!
Just look at how cute her skirt turned out! We did add a hem of just a half an inch by zig-zagging across the bottom. I like a finished look so it was worth the extra step. It was a total of 4 seams plus the hem and the skirt was finished. No pattern, just measurements, cut and sew! Easy!
This evening I hosted a scrappy group of women making the Close to My Heart Butterfly Album. This had been offered as a fundraiser in 2006. I bought a case of the albums in 2008 thinking it would be a great project, expecially for those new to scrapping and stamping. Tonight I welcomed four friends from school and it was great fun to see what everyone did with their albums.
When I offer a workshop I bring down any embellishments I have that I think would work with the album or layout. These ladies really went to town and I love that everyone's album looked so unique!
One my favorite things is to see how different people take the same project and make it their own. I just enjoy the process! Well, I also love the chatter, the laughing and the opportunity to just hang with the ladies.
The margaritas that Mark whipped up weren't bad either. All in all, it was a great day to create!
