Tuesday in Second Grade, ’Twas the Night Before...

School starts and it looks like I'm ready. Well, that's what it looks like from this view. On the other side, well, I think you know me by now...

This is what the desk really looks like. But seriously, considering what I was dealing with at 4pm, this is not all that bad! Tomorrow I will be in school early and the pile will be gone before the kiddles arrive! My biggest issue today was all of the stuff I had piled on top of the student desks.

See, the room cleaned up rather nicely. I am most proud of the fact that the closets and drawers are all still organized. There has been no hiding of the straggling papers, anywhere! I think that is important to note!

Well, it appears there is still an issue with the reading table. Fortunately most of that is earmarked for the file cabinet right next to the table. Tomorrow is just a 1/2 day with the students. That will give me a half day to re-group and deal with any leftover issues concerning the great room organization project!

It’a a New Year

I am just about ready to start school tomorrow. My lunch is packed. My bags are packed. Even my clothes are laid out. I even have a new cup for this year's journey!

It's a Quilt in a Cup! Bunkey and I came across this little beauty in Lancaster. It seemed simple enough, just make a little quilt, stuff it inside and voila! Quilt in a Cup!

I just couldn't decide what I wanted in my cup. Then, while I was in Fort Worth, I came across the perfect fabric. I love the black and white swirl. I picked out a bright yellow floral with these gorgeous pink flowers that I knew would just pop off the black and a plan was hatched.

Truth be told, I have never done free motion quilting/applique, I was nervous. I learned quite a bit through this process and I am very pleased with the result.
