Let the Celebration Begin

Well, it actually started yesterday with the traditional birthday pie from Johnson's Farm. Special thanks to Bunkey and Eddie for starting the festivities.

There was a decision made around 5pm this evening that the desk can wait until Monday morning - my husband was waiting to start the celebration at home!

Mark surprised me with a beautiful bouquet and a very pretty card. We printed out my TGI Friday's birthday coupon and headed out to grab something to eat!

Although we decided against dessert, dinner was a treat and it put us in the right neighborhood to take care of some Halloween shopping for my school costume. After that we headed home and boy was I shocked when Mark brought in the mail. Lots of cards and packages! I will not open anything until my birthday tomorrow, but it is really so sweet to be remembered. A special thanks to everyone! Now for a late showing, here at home, of Bedknobs and Broomsticks! I sure know how to celebrate, don't I?

Throw Back Thursday, Lake Crescent

While we were away this past weekend we couldn't help but reminisce about previous adventures we had taken. One of my favorite destinations, ever, was Lake Crescent in Washington. We were on the Olympic Penninsula Loop, taking a very quick, early September visit while school was closed for two days. Unfortunately, at that time, we were just passing through and did not get to stay. It is definitely on our agenda, some time in the future, to go back for a stay at the lodge! I just can't wait!

Ahhhh, October

Possibly my favorite month, October. I just love the way October welcomes in the season of home and nesting. The days are still warm, but the evenings are deliciously chilly. Of course my October Daisies arrived right on time, September 28th!

October is also the month of wonderfully smooth seasonal brews. Tonight we made it to happy hour over at Iron Hill. What a treat! 

Finally, the sky this evening was simply gorgeous. A little dark and stormy, a little bright and calm. No rain anticipated but the sky put on the show for us anyway!

I am happy we will be home this weekend. My daughter is traveling down from NY for a visit and I have a date with number one son for some football on Sunday. October, a good time to nest and gather together with family. Did I mention, I just love October!
