Poor Julie has had to wait far too long for her final block. I apologize but October is just way to busy, what with birthdays, SGO's and all that. Finally, this evening, I finished the 6th and final Supernova block to send to my buddy in Utah. Julie, being prompt and all, had her block arrive in New Jersey on time. Although I received Julie's block, I promised not to look at it until her block was done. So this evening, once I place my final block in the envelope, I will take a look at the block that Julie sent and read her challenge for the month of October.
The prompt, which asked us to list five unexpected blessings was an easy one to write. Here, for your perusal, Is my offering for our final challenge.
My Unexpected Blessings
- The first of my unexpected blessings would be my two children. I always knew that I wanted children but I just never knew what a positive influence they would be on my life. Having me as their mom, a single mom with no support from their father, was not easy on them. Each and every day they delight me, lift me up, hold me accountable and love me unconditionally. For them, I am truly grateful.
- My husband is such a blessing. Who would have thought, at the age of 50, that I would find love and happiness. Who would have thought that I would get married again?
- Quilting has become such a positive force in my life. At one time it was one of my many hobbies. Now I only quilt and scrapbook. When time is limited, I quilt. It gives me such comfort to sit behind the machine and run the fabric through to sew pieces together into something of magic.
- Friendship in a far away place. Julie, you are totally an unexpected blessing in my life. You are patient (thank-you) and brave. Thank you for the gift of you.
- Wow, only 5. Well I guess that today I am most grateful that my husband has found a job. After moving out to the East Coast to live with me after we were married, giving up a really good job at Microsoft in Seattle and searching for 3 years, today he was finally offered an opportunity to work. I am grateful!
Unfortunately, I have yet to make my copies of the blocks that I have sent to Julie so it will be a little bit before I am putting my Supernova together. I am anxious to see how it all comes together!
