Just like that, it's December. I wonder how it comes around so quickly each year! This year I feel less prepared than ever. I mean here it is, December 2nd, and there are only 3 trees up in the house! I must get moving. Yesterday, the 1st, I made time to do a bit of sewing so that I do not get too far behind on the Grand Illusion Mystery. Really, with report cards due in two days, I have some serious work to do!
This year my December Daily album is going to be kept really simple, just so that I can keep up without taking time away from actually experiencing the holiday season. The story of December 1st is one of trying to create at least one finished block for the Bonnie Hunter mystery, while trying to finish report cards. It includes a trip to the quilt shop for some fabric and signs of the holiday all around me.
It's the story of receiving an anticipated gift, our annual wreath from Karen and Chuck. I love this wreath and I cannot wait to hang it over the railing of the loft so that the smell permeates the house! The story of December 1st is the story of the holidays truly beginning here at home and that's a good thing!
December 1st is in the books. This is one project that I look forward to each year. I love looking back through my previous albums to see how the holidays are similar and how they differ. Each year is different, each year has its own magic. I just love this season, between Thanksgiving and Christmas, it makes me smile!
