Time flies, really. It seems like just yesterday that my student teacher joined our class. On Thursday, we will celebrate her last day with a little going away party. It is always interesting to see how second graders relate to a student teacher. While my current group is tough, they are really a bunch of sweethearts. Their advice to my student teacher is just comical. At times, however, there is some real heartfelt sentiment and I think that they really are learning something.
I am sure, when Ms. Stokes heads home on Thursday, these little niblets will make her smile. Really cute. They are so excited to “surprise” her with school supplies for her classroom. So far we have collected 1 broken pencil sharpener, a halloween pencil, a used glue stick and a magnet. All of which are given from the heart. You gotta love 2nd graders!
Tomorrow I will have them put their thumbprints on our final gift, the thumbprint tree. I know that they will enjoy doing it and I hope that she will remember us long after she has left our building.
