Quilting was not on my agenda today, even though it is Worldwide Quilting Day. Seriously, I wish I had a moment to sew today. But with report cards due on Monday and Jessica moving out of Brooklyn, there was just too much other stuff to do!
Next week however, my Springtime in Paris quilt will be heading to the longarm quilters and that makes me very happy! Bunkey, Marie and I made the Springtime in Paris quilts last year in celebration of quilting with friends. We ate French food and watched movies with a French theme, Midnight in Paris and French Kiss.
Next weekend we will be getting together again. It seems silly that it has taken us a year but, whatever. Next Saturday we are celebrating Springtime in NY. We will be creating quilt blocks from the book, Patchwork City. We will be working with colors that are not our norm, experimenting with different combinations. We will enjoy a delicious brunch, just like my daughter and her friends in NY love to do and we will watch movies with a New York theme. Breakfast at Tiffany’s and The Out of Towners are on our agenda. It is going to be great fun!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, my blue, yellow and white medallian quilt will also be going to my longarm quilter next weekend. I finally found a fabric for the back that I am happy with. That quilt has been years in the making, I think I started it in 2005! It feels good to finally have it make its final journey!
