Sunday chores began inside with the laundry and the taming of the winter clothes and linens. Translated that means that Goodwill is getting much more than I originally thought!
The photo above shows the back of my front garden bed before I began weeding. I still need to be very careful about being out in the sun during the hottest part of the day. Today I ventured outside at about 3:30. Most of the front garden was in the shade by that time. When all was said and done, the bed looked like this...The job was huge but the result is well worth it. I even took the time to clean the birdbath and contemplate planting annuals. So excited that that job is done!
Originally my goal was to fill three large trash cans with yard waste. But, I had energy so I kept right on going. I trimmed some of the shrub roses and have almost claimed back the path on the right side of the rose bed. Five trash cans were filled during my yardwork blitz this afternoon and I worked until about 8.
After cleaning up, I set about watering our plants. I love to walk around the garden to see how the plants have grown and to see the changes in the garden from day to day. We still have plants that need a place to call home, but little by little it is all coming together.
Next on my list, getting the citronella in the ground. I am hoping that this really helps to keep the mosquitos away. I would love to use the yard all summer long!
This makes me very happy. My little planter on the fence is doing really well. I love the pink and white flowers as I walk up the front path!
