From where we sat, this is what we were able to see at the Wells Fargo Center last evening. It was Joel Osteen’s Evening of Hope. Bunkey had decided a while ago that she wanted to see Joel. She watches him on Sunday mornings and finds him very inspirational. I had seen his books, but I had never actually seen him speak.
Friday, at 3pm, Bunkey still had no one to go with her. Those of you that know me know that I am not all that religious. Bunkey knows that therefore she didn’t ask me to tag along. She did ask a couple of people from church and still, no takers.
So, at 3pm on Friday, I volunteered to go with her. I’m glad I did. It was an inspirational and uplifting experience. Bunkey was thrilled to be there and truly felt the words that Joel shared.Remember this date, July 17th, 2015. The rest of your life begins today. After the week that Bunkey had, this was something that she needed to hear. We were out later than Bunkey has been up in months. We sat and chatted while we waited for the parking lot to empty.
We talked about hopes and dreams. We talked about life and struggles. We talked about showing up to our own lives every single day. We had a wonderful and joy filled evening. I’m glad I went.
