Lookie what arrived in the mail yesterday, all the way from Seattle by way of Boston! My dear friend Faye visited Seattle about a month ago and picked up this Starbucks mug, with the original logo, to send to me. In true Faye fashion, that wasn’t enough. She also included some of her delicious hamantaschen. I have not had a taste of Faye’s hamantaschen since we worked together in NY in 1982 or 1983. That was when I learned all about Purim.
Faye is quite an accomplished baker and everything she creates is absolutely delicious! These cookies are no different. I might let Mark try them. Well, maybe.This has been a tough week. So many of my friends are dealing with significant medical issues. By Thursday, after school, I was drained. I arrived home to find this wonderful package outside my front door and my spririts were lifted. It immediately changed my mood and gave me the strength to spread a bit of positive energy to where it was needed. For that I am eternally grateful.
Thank you Faye for your kindness and generousity. And thank you to all my friends that keep me going each and every day. You will never know how much your kindness means to me.
