When Marie joined us on Sunday for the Strawberry Social, she brought with her two quilts that I had delivered to her for quilting. You see, Marie owns a long-arm machine and I almost always have my quilts quilted by a long armer. It really is a life-saver. I would never get a quilt done if I had to quilt them entirely on my own.
I was so excited to see my quilts complete, I really wasn’t expecting them! The Paris quilt is the one that Marie, Bunkey and I all made at our Saturday in Paris sewing extravaganza. Rememeber, we ate French cut beans and salad with French dressing? In any case, mine is the last to be completed. Marie quilted and overall flowing design with white thread.
The other quilt, I have been working on for years. Finally, back in March, I found the perfect fabric for the backing. It is beautiful now that it is entirely quilted. The photo does not do it justice. It is nearly king sized. Marie quilted an overall design using yellow thread and it is so striking! I love it!
Now you know, the quilts are not nearly done. I still have to sew the binding on the quilts and add a label to the back. This quilt, made with my favorite colors, will be used on our bed or in the living room. Actually, it will be used where ever we need to keep warm!
I am so pleased that the backing was perfect and that Marie thought to use the yellow thread. It is perfect! Now to get the bindings cut and these quilts finished. I will just add them to the pile of quilts to finish!
