The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt has been on my to-do “wish list” for quite a while. It is a quilt with 111 six inch blocks, quite an undertaking and not one to rush into. So I thought and I thought some more.
Last year I met Julie, a wonderful quilter in Utah, who I partnered with to work on a modern quilt. I thought it might be fun to continue our friendship through another quilt block swap. So here it is, The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt. Julie is doing all of the even numbered blocks and I am doing all of the odd numbered blocks. I am so excited! I love civil war fabrics and the idea of finishing this quilt by only making one half of the blocks makes the process seem much more manageable. Here is the beginning and I am so excited! As of this evening I have one block done and one more in process. This is going to make such a great quilt and I am thrilled to have someone to share the journey with me.
